American comedian and television personality Chelsea Handler has revealed how she handed out drugs at the Vanity Fair 2025 Oscars party.
The lavish event was attended by some of Hollywood’s most glamorous, including actress Julia Fox, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo and singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo.
Amid the glitz and the glamour, stand-up comedian and actress Chelsea, 50, said she was on hand with a few party favours of her own.
Chelsea, 50, is renowned for her shocking wit, lashing out at the ‘epidemic’ of ‘horny old men’ in Hollywood (including Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Elon Musk) and taking a swipe at Prince Harry’s ‘frostbitten penis.’
This also includes a sense of candidness when it comes to her own life – giving herself a topless breast exam in a 2023 post, as she urged men to get vasectomies so that women don’t have to ‘bear the burden of sexual responsibility’.
And, in a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! she has spoken out about her ‘love’ of drugs, and how she offered them out at the showbiz party.

‘I was giving it out to everyone. I was like, ‘Take this, you’re going to have a great time,’ and people were like, ‘OK,’ she told the late-night talk show host.
However, she did not disclose which particular stars she had offered drugs to – nor whether anyone partook.
She also said: ‘I love drugs… micro-dosing especially. People have this stigmatisation around drugs that I find very annoying.
‘Drugs can help so many people.’

She clarified that she prefers ‘natural’ drugs, and is not involved in ‘bad’ street drugs like heroin or cocaine.
‘Those are bad. While they can be fun, they’re bad,’ she joked. ‘I’m talking about psilocybin and LSD.’
‘They treat depression and they help people have fun. But microdose. Not like you’re off your rocker and hallucinating,’ she said.

The comedian has always been open about her past drug use, describing in her 2020 special Evolution how she feared for her life after taking psychedelic toad venom.
She recalled: ‘It’s immediately terrible — like the most terrible thing. Dark swirly greens and purples it was like I was on a rollercoaster and my head was in a vice and I couldn’t move…
‘And I was like “Oh, oh, oh you’re gonna pass away today”. And then I’m like don’t be so dramatic you’re not gonna pass away you’ve already received some brain damage.’
‘Finally, I start to come out of it and I was, first of all, embarrassed because I was nude and that I had just lost complete control.’

In an episode of her 2016 documentary series Chelsea Does, she set out to explore ‘the power of drugs’ by experimenting with ayahuasca and mixing alcohol with Ambien.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Narcos star Pedro Pascal, Chelsea joked about cocaine, asking producers ‘can we get a bag of blow?’ as they chatted about his role in the Netflix crime drama series.
