Hollywood star’s daughter is ‘identical’ to famous mum in first TV role-Milo Pope-Entertainment – Metro

A Hollywood star’s daughter has channeled one of her mother’s most famous roles in her first TV appearance.

Viewers are claiming that Ava Phillipe is the spitting image of her mother Reese Witherspoon, as she looks to follow in the A-lister’s acting footsteps.

The 25-year-old will make her acting debut this week on an episode of ABC’s Doctor Odyssey, where she plays a college teen vying for the attention of Max (Joshua Jackson).

In a promotional clip shared online, Ava can be seen wearing a similar bright pink bikini to Reese’s character, Elle Woods, in Legally Blonde.

The actress, whose father is Cruel Intentions star Ryan Phillippe, has been in the public eye for most of her life, and has fronted several modeling campaigns, working with brands including Ivy Park, Rodarte and Pat McGrath Labs.

Now, she looks set to make her mark in Hollywood, as she appears in the TV series alongside Paris Jackson, the daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, and Charlotte Lawrence, the daughter of Bill Lawrence and Christa Miller.

Doctor Odyssey fans were astounded by the uncanny resemblance Ava had to one of her mother’s most famous Hollywood roles.

On Reddit, Embarrassed-Dog8206 said: ‘You can see both her mom and dad in her face; normally people look like one or the other parent, but she’s absolutely BOTH.’

Seeyousoon2 echoed this, by saying: ‘No. That’s the same person.’

VampireHunterAlex also wrote: ‘Know what’s even more wild? Her daughter is now older than Reese was when she filmed Legally Blonde.

Meanwhile, on X @leanzareadstv said: ‘Nepo baby central: Paris Jackson and Ava Phillippe guest starring together on Doctor Odyssey.’

Fellow user @GH20J_ also wrote: ‘Omg Reese Witherspoon/Ryan Phillippe’s and Michael Jackson’s daughters – Ava Phillippe and Paris Jackson are on the new episode of Doctor Odyssey !!!!’

Reese shares her daughter with her ex-husband Ryan, who she married in 1999 after meeting on the set of Cruel Intentions.

The former couple welcomed Ava in 1999 and son Deacon, 21, in 2003 before making the decision to divorce five years later.

Previously, Reese has opened up about having a daughter that looks startlingly similar, and heaped praise on how Ava had dealt with this in the spotlight.

‘I’m so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I’m sure it’s not easy looking exactly like your mother,’ she told InStyle.

‘We talk to Zoe Kravitz a lot. Because she and her mother [Lisa Bonet] look exactly alike, so whenever Ava is frustrated, I go, “Call Zoe, text Zoe, she knows what to talk about.” 

‘I mean, that’s another mother-daughter combo that’s like identical twins.’

Following her split from Ryan, Reese her second husband, talent agent Jim Toth in 2011, but they later divorced in 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. They share an 11-year-old son, Tennessee.

Since then, Reese is said to have moved on to Oliver Haarmann, who is a German financier.

After attending UC Berkley, Ava began modelling for Rodarte’s Fall look book in 2018, Ivy Park in 2021 and Aerie, but she never ruled out a career in acting.

In 2022, Ava made headlines after speaking candidly about her sexuality and how she’s ‘attracted to people’ as opposed to any particular gender.

She held an Instagram Q&A where she was asked by a fan whether she likes girls or boys.

She responded by telling her followers: ‘I’m attracted to people! Gender is whatever.’
