Sometimes the press conferences turn out to be eventful, with crazy responses from the athletes. One such incident happened after the Dallas Cowboys held a press meet with their first-round pick in this year’s NFL draft.

On Tuesday, Dallas Cowboys used their 24th overall pick to acquire the Tusla offensive tackle Tyler Smith in the first round of the draft. When asked about how he responds to the media speculations and criticisms from outside, the youngster had a crazy answer for the reporters and the NFL world.

Tyler Smith’s response surprised coach Mike McCarthy

The Cowboys strengthened their offensive unit by including more offensive tackles into the team. The former Tulsa alumni Tyler Smith was one of the big guys available in the draft. However, the Cowboys selecting him surprised the fans and NFL experts.

During the press conference held the same day, Smith mentioned that he usually ignores what the media says about him. However, the way he quoted the same sentence stunned the coach and other top members, including Jerry Jones on the stage. “I stay away from the media. Everybody has an opinion. Instantly, the Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy reacted as if he had never heard the popular saying before. The shock on his face ultimately turned into laughter. “That was awesome,” McCarthy said.

On the work front, the offensive tackle is equally savage, but his raw game and upholding penalties while playing in the offensive line were always held in the line of criticism. Even though he played as a tackle throughout his college career, Smith is expected to begin his pro-football career at the left guard position.

The Dallas Cowboys call Tyler Smith the Left Tackle of the future.

After picking Tyler Smith in the first round, the franchise is planning to have him as a permanent left tackle for the future. For the past 11 seasons, the 31-year-old Tyron Smith has been looking after the business for Dallas Cowboys.

His contributions to the team are irreparable precisely, a Hall of Fame worthy performance. However, injuries have sidelined him from playing in 28 games in the last six seasons. The inclusion of a new guard in the form of Tyrell Smith will surely help the team find a replacement for him (Tyron Smith).

“We think he (Tyler Smith) can be our left tackle for a long time at some point in time,” Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones said on Thursday. “We’ve got the best in the business now in Tyron Smith. But at some point, (with) his ability, we believe he could be a top, top left tackle,” he added.
