Noah Lyles Sets Blistering Time in 200m Race; Brother Finishes Third at Season Opener

Brothers in arms while intense competitors away, the Lyles brothers love to put on a show. In the recent season opener at the National Training Center, Clermont, Florida, Noah Lyles, and his brother took part in the 200-meters dash. Notably, Noah took home the victory with a personal best. On the other hand, his brother finished third as the brothers stood on the podium.

Significantly, it was a season-best time for Noah, who ran at a blistering pace. As for his brother, he finished with a respectable time to set the pace in the 200-meters race. Lyles received his first Olympic medal in this year’s Tokyo Olympics. With the sensational rise of Fred Kerley, this season would be important for Lyles to stamp his mark for this year’s athletics season.

An important track season for Noah Lyles

He came into the limelight after winning the gold medal in the 200-meters competition at the 2017 Diamond League competition in Brussels. This was his calling card. Thereafter, he later dominated the 200-meter events. However, a lot of injuries and other issues dampened his progress. Despite all that, he won at Tokyo and now sets his season-best time for the track and field season.

He finished with a time of 19.86 seconds with a headwind +0.8. The second place went to Jereem Richards, who finished with a time of 20.06. His brother finished third with a time of 20.20 seconds, 0.34 seconds behind him. It was a great performance, but Lyles is far ahead of him, as of right now. Impressed with his performance, Lyles exclaimed how pumped up he is for the new season.

“That’s a nice season opener.”

An able 200-meters sprinter

Ever since he made his debut, Lyles is known for the 200-meters sprinting events. His personal best is 19.50 seconds. Although his recent time is nowhere near his best, it was great for Noah to get in some good game time ahead of the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

His brother Josephus won the 200-meters bronze medal at the World Youth Championships in Cali. He is striving to improve day by day as he hopes to bridge the time gaps between him and his brother. Likewise, his personal best for the 200-meters is 20.03. It is going to take a huge effort to reach the standards his brother sets. Do you think Josephus can catch up to Noah?
