NBA Star Hits Back at Critics Over Giannis Antetokounmpo Snub For ‘Best Player in the League’: “Then Who the Hell is?”

Everyone can safely say that Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the NBA right now. As a player, he has every tool in the box. He is a great scorer, a rebounder, a playmaker, and a defender as well. He has already won two MVP awards and had a final MVP as well last season.

Giannis has consistently produced fantastic performances for the team. He has made the Milwaukee Bucks one of the favorites from the Eastern Conference.

But Stephen A. Smith doesn’t feel the same, maybe. When asked whether Giannis was the best player in the league or not, he said, “I’m not going to go there.” His answer was criticized by many, including current Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma.

Kuzma wrote on Twitter, “Lol then who the hell is?” Smith is known for his piping hot takes on ESPN. He has been a staple of such kind of commentary, along with Skip Bayless for a long time.

Giannis Antetokounmpo this season

Giannis has been one of the best players for the past two years. This year too, he has showed up for the Bucks in spectacular fashion. Against the Boston Celtics, in the 1st game of the Conference semifinals, he had a triple-double of 24 points, 12 assists, and 13 rebounds. There is nobody more dangerous in the paint than the ‘Greek Freak’.

Antetokounmpo was inefficient 9-for-25 from the field as a scorer, but his assists more than made up the difference and were enormously costly for the Celtics — so much so that they might have to shuffle some of their defensive priorities. That is the kind of force he is on the field.

In the regular season, he scored 29.9 points (2nd overall) per game, 11.6 rebounds per game, and 5.8 assists per game. His PER rating was 32.12, which also made him 2nd to Denver Nuggets player and Serbian international Nikola Jokic. The Greek Freak’s ability to use his body to his advantage has come out well in the entire regular season and post-season.
