BBC and ITV have a whole load of television specials in store for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee starting this month, right through until the bank holiday weekend.
Both networks will celebrate the monarch’s 70 years on the throne and have transformed their schedules to mark the milestone moment.
The BBC has announced its full coverage across television and BBC News for the occasion, with the action kicking off in just a matter of days.
Kirsty Young will return to the corporation for the first time since 2018 to anchor a full weekend of programming for the Jubilee, joined by presenters including Huw Edwards, Clare Balding, AJ Odudu and Roman Kemp, as well as Anita Rani.
The biggest names from across the Beeb will also host a variety of programmes celebrating The Queen’s extraordinary 70-year reign, including documentary The Crown Jewels presented by Clive Myrie and The Queens Jubilee Pudding: 70 Years in the Baking with Mary Berry.
Special programming across BBC networks will start in early May right through to Sunday 5 June, with significant live events broadcast across the bank holiday weekend.

The Queens Jubilee Pudding: 70 Years in the Baking
A one-hour celebratory special that follows the nationwide competition to find an original and celebratory cake or pudding fit for The Queen herself, to celebrate our Monarch’s 70 years on the throne. The winning recipe will become a part of British culinary history, and the amateur baker who devised it will be revealed in the programme, chaired by Food writer and television presenter, Dame Mary Berry with a team comprising of award-winning home bakers and professional chefs, authors, historians, and pâtissiers.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show
To mark Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee RHS Chelsea will be paying tribute to her long-standing support of the event and taking a look at how Chelsea has shaped our gardening tastes over the past 70 years.
Wednesday, June 1st
Bargain Hunt Jubilee Special
Two teams of royal enthusiasts go head-to-head at Cheshire Showground for a Bargain Hunt with a Royal twist. Master of ceremonies Charlie Ross challenges them to buy an item with a royal connection and noble experts Nick Hall and Stephanie Connell are on hand to guide their teams towards the best regal buys.
The Repair Shop Jubilee Special – Jay Blades and the team mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by bringing four treasured heirlooms with a royal connection, back to life.
Thursday, June 2
Morning Live
The programme will showcase and surprise some of the winners of the Platinum Champions Awards, an initiative run by The Royal Voluntary Service together with HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and The Big Jubilee Lunch.
Platinum Jubilee: Trooping the Colour
Starting off the special extended Bank Holiday Jubilee weekend on BBC One, Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young, and JJ Chalmers will present the Jubilee Special of Trooping the Colour, from Buckingham Palace along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade where the military spectacle will take place. The morning’s events celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne with an expected appearance of members of the Royal Family expected on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Platinum Beacons: Lighting up the Jubilee
The first day of the Platinum Jubilee will be marked by the traditional lighting of beacons across the Nation and Commonwealth. Around the country, communities will be coming together to light more than 1,500 beacons to celebrate The Queen’s 70-year reign, and a principal beacon will be lit at Buckingham Palace.
The One Show
Will put together two special shows for the Platinum Jubilee on Thursday and Friday, looking ahead and celebrating all the different events being held in communities up and down the country.
EastEnders
As those around the nation will be celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this summer, so will the residents of Albert Square. With The Queen Victoria pub at the heart of the celebrations, Mick Carter has an idea for the residents of Walford to celebrate the special occasion and it doesn’t take long for Linda Carter to take control as they pull out all the stops with a special street party in honour of Her Majesty, making it a day to remember in Albert Square.

Friday, June 3
Platinum Jubilee: A Service of Thanksgiving
In the presence of senior members of the royal family, David Dimbleby, Kirsty Young and Sophie Raworth will broadcast the Service of Thanksgiving live from St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Blue Peter Jubilee special
Blue Peter will broadcast a Jubilee takeover at 5pm on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.
The Crown Jewels
To mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Clive Myrie has been given unique access to the Crown Jewels. With 13 Crowns and nearly 24,000 precious gemstones, the collection is the nation’s treasure. In this revelatory documentary Clive travels across Britain to explore the dramatic stories behind these precious jewels from before the coronation of William the Conqueror in 1066 to today.

A special programme in which Winifred Robinson hears stories from people who have met The Queen at various moments during her long life, and recall their encounters with her.
Platinum Party At The Palace
Hosts Kirsty Young and Roman Kemp will lead the coverage of the Platinum Party at the Palace. Broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and across the entire BBC network, the Platinum Party at the Palace will bring together the world’s biggest entertainers to perform for a night of musical tributes to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Platinum Pageant
Presenters Kirsty Young, Clare Balding, AJ Odudu, Anita Rani, Sophie Morgan, and Anton Du Beke will come together for the Platinum Pageant. The Pageant will bring together artistic performers, dancers, musicians, military personnel, key workers and volunteers who will unite to tell the story of The Queen’s 70 year reign in an awe-inspiring festival of creativity. The Pageant will draw on talent from every part of the United Kingdom and across the Commonwealth. Later on that evening, Kirsty Young will recap key moments from the weekend in a highlights programme showcasing the most spectacular moments from The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration
Dame Helen Mirren, Damian Lewis, Omid Djalili and Tom Cruise lead an all-star cast of British and international talent celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This celebratory event will be broadcast live on ITV from the private grounds of Windsor and is the first televised event to mark this historic occasion. Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham will host the live ITV broadcast, which will feature guests including Adjoa Andoh, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and, Ant & Dec.
