Tina Turner, 81, is done reliving her ‘extremely painful’ past trauma as star tells fans goodbye in new doc
TINA Turner has decided to move on from the spotlight, as she bids farewell to her horrific past traumas.
The international sensation has no interest in remaining in the public eye, as she has made a vow to put her “painful” experiences behind her.

Tina, 81, has given her final interview in her new HBO documentary, aired this weekend.
The Queen of Rock N’ Roll opened up about her “abuse” for the final time in the film created by Academy Award-winning directors Dan Lindsay and TJ Martin.
The biopic itself will re-highlight the icon’s scarring childhood neglect and marital domestic violence, as she states: “I had an abusive life.
“There’s no other way to tell the story. It’s a reality. A truth.”

Tina suffered sexual abuse and thoughts of suicide during her 16-year marriage to her ex-husband Ike Turner, who died in 1978.
Not only did she face physical and mental abuse, but was plagued with illness and miraculously survived a stroke, cancer, and organ transplant later in life.
TJ Martin spoke to The Post about her impact on fans who share in her experiences, explaining: “Every time she’s asked to re-tell her story, as beneficial as it may be for other people to hear and be empowered by, it can be extremely painful and re-traumatizing for her.
“The spotlight is not interesting to her anymore. She worked for 60 years — and now she’s done with being repeatedly reminded of her past trauma.”

Dan Lindsay also offered his insight, adding: “Her motivation for coming forward about the truth of her time with Ike was about trying to free herself from him.
“But the irony is that it just connected her to him in a way that she could never escape,” he confessed.
The filmmakers have ensured Tina’s fans that this documentary will be her final farewell.
The What’s Love Got To Do With It singer was played by actress Angela Bassett in the doc, and it will focus on more than just the dark moments of her career.

The film also speaks on Tina’s journey to freedom, her professional success and years of public adoration.
After being abandoned by her parents as a teen, the singer was thrust into her abusive marriage, and despite every effort to forget the terrible years behind her, they instead developed into her legacy.
In addition to her physical ailments of late, Tina also suffers from serious Post-Traumatic Stress as a result of her troubled past.
The mother of four does, however, claim to have forgiven Ike, who passed of accidental drug overdose in 2007.

Tina has made it clear that she is ready to leave her public life in the past, as she enjoys time with her second husband Erwin Bach, whom she married in 2013.
During a farewell trip to the United States to view the premiere of her self-entitled Broadway production, Erwin spoke about her finale.
“She said, ‘I’m going to America to say goodbye to my American fans and I’ll wrap it up’. And I think this documentary and the play, this is it — it’s a closure.”

The couple resides in Switzerland, where they first moved in 1995, and the celebrity continued to perform until 2009.
On May 5 of that year Tina performed her last show in Sheffield, England, but she considers this biopic to be her final goodbye.
