KIM Kardashian has never been opposed to taking a little fashion inspiration from some of her idols.
After she wore Marilyn Monroe’s famous $5m gown to the Met Gala, let’s take a look at all the times Kim copied the looks of Hollywood icons.

Appearing at last night’s prestigious Met Gala, Kim wore Marilyn’s iconic gold dress, worth $5m.
The piece, which Kim had to lose 16 pounds to fit into, is so famous because it is the dress that the Hollywood legend wore when she sang Happy Birthday Mr. President for John F Kennedy at Madison Square Garden in 1962.
The dress now lives at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! museum in Orlando, Florida.
Kim wore the historic item to make another bold statement at the Gala after years of show-stopping outfits.
She also dyed her hair platinum blonde in tribute to Marilyn.
Her boyfriend Pete Davidson looked suitably 60s by her side in a black suit with a skinny tie and sunglasses.
LAWYER LOOKS
In another nod to the silver screen, Kim channeled Legally Blonde’s iconic law student Elle Woods in 2019.
The KUWTK-alum looked frighteningly akin to the noughties character, played by Reece Witherspoon, with this look that she wore for Halloween.

The aspiring lawyer herself even added a lookalike puppy to her bag and recreated the scene from the movie of Elle’s Harvard submission video.
Reece shared her approval of the copy by singing her praises on social media.
AN AMERICAN BEAUTY
Continuing to show her love for pop culture, the reality star famously recreated the poster image from American Beauty in a promotional pic for her brand, KKW Beauty.
The makeup-mogul channeled the pin-up appeal of the original photo, which showcased actress Mena Suvari in her role in the 1999 Oscar-winning film.
NINETIES ICONS
Attending the premiere of The Cher Show on Broadway in 2018, Kim wore a vintage Versace gown that Naomi Campbell had previously worn on the runway in 1998.

Proving that the metallic dress still looks as good in modern times as it did in the late 90s, the British supermodel had also re-worn the dress in 2015 on the red carpet of The Fragrance Foundation’s awards bash.
Another look first debuted on the runway by Naomi is this catsuit and beret combo by 80s icon Alaïa.

Kim donned the same sexy black leopard print number in 2019 for an Instagram photoshoot.
VISION IN VERSACE
In another reference to high fashion, Kim showed off in this bondage-inspired dress at a Met Gala after-party in 2018.

It was the same garment that Helena Christensen wore as she walked the runway for Versace in 1992.
Citing the Danish supermodel as her inspiration, Kim was even able to source the exact same piece from Donatella Versace that gave Helena her career-defining moment.
PAM AND TOMMY
Pulling out all the stops for Halloween as usual, Kim channeled 90s icon Pamela Anderson as she celebrated the spooky season with Jonathan Cheban in 2018.

She and her bestie copied Pam and her off-on beau Tommy Lee’s looks from the Video Music Awards in 1999.
Kim looked every bit as outrageous as the Baywatch star in an identical fluffy cowboy hat, white corset, and sequined skirt.
LIKE A VIRGIN
In 2017, Kim and her sister Kourtney Kardashian also looked to the music world for their coordinated Halloween outfits.
The two transformed into replicas of Michael Jackson and Madonna at their legendary 1991 Oscars appearance.

On what was possibly the most star-studded date of all time, the King and Queen of Pop dazzled in head-to-toe glam as they attended the glitzy bash together.
At the time, the Like A Virgin singer was paying her own tribute to Marilyn with her visual presentation, and turned up to the event in a fur coat and diamonds.
BEACH BABE
In 2018, Kim showed off her enviable curves as she channeled Bo Derek.
The swimsuit and braids combination paid tribute to the actress’ look in the 1979 romantic comedy, 10.
She posed on the beach for her recreation, which was posted in black and white.
However, the star left her fans divided over the hairstyle, as some accused her of cultural appropriation.
CHER THING
Kim is a huge Cher fan, and the two enjoy a close friendship.
She has a history of pinching inspiration from the Goddess of Pop, and in 2015, paid tribute with her Met Gala look.
Clearly inspired by Cher’s outfit from the same event back in 1974, she wore a sparkling white gown with feather details,

Kim went on to show her Cher fandom again in 2018 when she attended the singer’s concert in Las Vegas.
With sheer slacks and a white bra top featuring a butterfly centerpiece, she echoed the Believe singer’s 1974 Grammys look.
