Aston Martin Undergoes Massive Change Amid ‘Strategy Differences’ With Lawrence Stroll
All the rumors are confirmed true as Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers steps down from his position. The team has been struggling immensely, and a restructuring looks to be set in motion by Lawrence Stroll.
While their poor performance was an obvious hot topic, no one expected the British team to make more changes. Especially ahead of the fifth round, which is critical for the teams at this stage.
The question, however, remains as to if the replacement Amedeo Felisa is the right person to be the CEO or not.
Ex- Ferrari boss Amedeo Felisa and Roberto Fedeli join Aston Martin
Felisa is an ex- Ferrari boss and, in fact, will be joined by Roberto Fedeli, also an ex- Ferrari worker. While Felisa will manage the position of CEO with immediate effect, they expect Moers to support the team till July. Roberto, on the other hand, will act as the new technical chief. Felisa and Roberto are veterans of motor sports. They also credited a lot of significant work at Ferrari.

Under Moers, the company has reported a loss of $192.6 million for the first quarter. This is a lot more compared to last year’s $52.8 million. Understandably, Aston Martin was in news last night to take this step.
In an official statement released, they said: “The Aston Martin board today announces that by mutual agreement Tobias Moers will step down as chief executive. He will step down from the company’s board with immediate effect and support the lead team with a transition until the end of July.”

This also comes after news of Moers’ “strategic differences” with Lawrence Stroll floated around. It is believed that the Canadian, played a huge role in Moers’ departure.
The British team has struggled very much during the races
The last race at Imola was somewhat successful for the team. The drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll managed a double point finish. However, before that, the team sat last on the constructors with zero points for the longest time. As the likes of teams like Alfa Romeo and Haas succeeded in miraculously making it to Q3 and finishing in the top 10 on most occasions, the Silverstone team looked on sadly.

The AMR22 looked like a solid promise when initially launched. Their livery was a huge taking point amongst fans. In fact, they expected the car to perform better than last year. However, the first 3 races were a struggle for the British team before luck finally knocked at their door.
