Eli Manning Trolls GSW’s Draymond Green For ‘Double-Bird’ To Memphis Grizzlies Fans During NBA Playoffs: “I Apologize For Starting This Trend”

NBA star Draymond Green is known for his toughness on the basketball court. His toughness and IQ have made him a crucial part of the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are currently locked in a tough battle against the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

Draymond was ejected in the first game of the series because of a hard foul on Brandon Clarke. Surprisingly, the Warriors grabbed the win that game and go 1-0 up in the series. However, the story changed little in the second game of the series, as their matchup continued to get physical.

Grizzlies player Dillon Brooks was ejected in the early part of the 2nd game. Apart from that, Draymond himself got hit in the eye with an elbow from Xavier Tillman. Draymond’s eye was bleeding, yet the Memphis crowd booed him.

In response to the Memphis crowd, Draymond showed off his middle fingers. In response to Draymond’s action, former Giants quarterback Eli Manning was quick to take a subtle dig at him.

Eli Manning claims Draymond Green copied him

Eli Manning is among the best quarterbacks that the NFL has ever seen. He has been a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants. However, he is well known for his witty humor. Unsurprisingly, he reacted to Draymond Green, showing his middle fingers to the Memphis crowd.

Eli Manning, last year on Monday Night Football broadcast along with his brother Peyton Manning, flipped the ‘double-bird.’ Since then, his picture has gone viral, and has been brought up many times for various obvious reasons.

Draymond’s actions towards the Grizzlies fans were similar to Eli’s picture shown above. In his tweet, Eli said, “I apologize for starting this trend!!”, in reference to the recent incidents in the NBA.

Not further long ago, Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets had a similar incident as well. He was booed on his return to Boston, and he decided to show off his middle fingers to the Boston crowd as well.

Later, Kyrie Irving was fined for his actions. Unsurprisingly, Draymond also knows that he will get fined for his actions in Game 2.

Draymond said, “It felt really good to flip [the Grizzlies’ fans] off… I’m assuming the cheers was because they know I’ll get fined, great… I make $25M per year I should be just fine.”

Draymond has always been real about his perspective, and this incident was another example of it. The ongoing series between the Grizzlies and the Warriors promises further physical altercations as well.
