How can I use Messenger without Facebook?

FACEBOOK created Messenger – which has over 1.3 billion users – an app made to message people who you’re friends with on the social media platform.

In 2019, Facebook removed the option to use the messaging service without the social media account, but we found you ways to still do so.

How to use Messenger without Facebook

Facebook had the option to simply enter your mobile phone and use the Messenger app.

In 2019, they decided to slack this feature off and required each Messenger user to have a Facebook account.

Luckily, someone found a way to still use Messenger without having to have Facebook.

If you had a Facebook account and deleted, you can simply download Messenger from your Apple or Google store, use your old Facebook details to log in and start using the service.

The only way to Messenger without the app is to access the desktop version of Facebook.

To do this though, you need to have a Facebook account.

You cannot do this on your phone, because if you try, it will redirect you to a link to download the Messenger app.

How can I sign out of Messenger?

For what sounds like such an easy action, the way to sign out of Messenger is not as straightforward.

You have to select on your profile in the Messenger app, and it will take you to a list of settings.

Scroll down and choose ‘Account Settings’.

This will take you to another set of settings, and from there you must select ‘Security and login’.
