Stephen Curry Once Left Out MVP Winning 76ers Legend From ‘Mt. Rushmore’ List Which Stunned NBA Fans

Watching Stephen Curry has been an escape from reality. The point guard has been in the league for 12 years, yet he still operates as if he’s tampering with the aging process. It’s as if he’s added time travel to his repertoire. His shooting is unrivaled, but his ball-handling skills are also among the finest in history.

Back in 2018, Steph was asked to name his Mt. Rushmore of ball handlers in NBA history. And it’s reasonable to assume that the names listed are or were certified ballers. The Golden State Warriors marksman said, “I’ll put myself on there. Kyrie (Irving). “Pistol” Pete (Maravich) and Magic Johnson.”

“He (Magic) was up there and it wasn’t anything like break your ankles type, but he can get from point A to point B and there’s nothing you can do about it. Ballhandling is about being efficient, so that is why I had to put him in there.”

The baby-faced assassin named a pretty legit list packed with pure hoopers. However, the exclusion of one name startled plenty of fans: Allen Iverson.

Stephen Curry leaves Allen Iverson off his list

Allen Iverson is one of the most devastating ball-handlers in the history of the NBA. His career highlight reel includes everything imaginable. The Answer did it all, from unbelievable game-winners to dunking on people twice his size.

However, putting defenders on skates is what he did on a nightly basis. Allen Iverson was so lethal at his craft that he once got Antonio Daniels to touch the floor twice in the same possession.

Iverson was unique because he displayed some never-before-seen moves with the rock. The Sixers legend was one of the most entertaining players to watch, which enabled him to become a fan favorite.

The former MVP’s crossovers were the most lethal, and it will always be odd to see a list of the greatest ball handlers that do not contain the name of Allen Iverson. Nonetheless, it’s Steph’s list, and no one can question his selections. However, fan reactions may not always mirror those of the general public.

Twitter went ballistic

Allen Iverson became a cultural touchstone during his 14-year Hall of Fame career. As a result, it was inevitable that fans would erupt when Stephen Curry left him off his Mt. Rushmore of ball handlers.

That’s his top 5 which is not bad, but I definitely would of added Allen Iverson no doubt!!

On Steph’s best day he could never out dribble Iverson

Iverson is the reason Steph can get away with all his carries.
