The inaugural Miami Grand Prix had all the ingredients to become an instant Formula 1 blockbuster. The dazzling display of world-class motor racing attracted the most glittering stars of North American social life in the paddock.
However, the event made something unusual go viral on the internet; Michael Jeffrey Jordan’s height.
Michael Jordan’s height is in question once again
The tendency to question NBA players’ height is nothing new. Since height is one of the most important assets of a basketball player, it is often a topic of discussion among basketball fans.
The controversy regarding a player’s actual and perceived height is quite common in the game. This discrepancy generally occurs because a player’s height can change after it is officially listed in the NBA records following the draft.
In fact, a player gets drafted at the age of 18-19. It is quite natural to grow an inch or two in the next few years. It is also possible to lose an inch or two with age.
Michael Jordan’s listed height is 6 feet and 6 inches(1.98m). So the fans were pretty surprised when they saw a picture of Michael Jordan with Tom Brady, David Beckham, and Lewis Hamilton on Tom Brady’s Instagram page.
Michael Jordan is shorter than Tom Brady?
In the picture, Jordan barely towers over Lewis Hamilton who’s 5 feet 8.5 inches(1.74m). Moreover, he appears a little shorter than Tom Brady who is 6 feet 4 inches(1.93m) tall.

This has led to much speculation about Michael Jordan’s ‘real height’ as there has been a spike in people inquiring about the same.
However, the answer to this puzzle is pretty simple. Michael Jordan is almost 60 years old. People shrink in height with age.
So, it is very likely Jordan was 1.98 m tall in his late teens but is not anymore. On the other hand, Brady, who’s by no means a teenager himself, is still a pro-athlete playing at the highest level.

Apart from ‘height gate’, the inaugural Miami Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen beat Charles Leclerc in a close fight to reduce the gap in the F1 Drivers’ championship tally. Although, Ferrari still leads Red Bull in the Constructors’ championship.
