‘People Here Are Crazy’ – Canadian Tennis Star Bianca Andreescu on Fans and Vibes at Italian Open

Bianca Andreescu had a fairy-tale run at the 2019 US Open. She went on to defeat the local favorite, Serena Williams, in the finals to notch the biggest win of her career. In the process, she became the first player from her country to win a major singles title.

However, ever since her monumental feat, Andreescu has had up and down moments with struggles due to injuries and mental-health-related problems. Further, she missed the start of the 2022 season after taking a mini-break from tennis. Subsequently, she made a comeback during the clay-court season and has had decent runs at tournaments.

Further, she added, “This is my first time at the tournament. It’s a different atmosphere. The people here are crazy, but in the best way. They love their tennis. I love that kind of atmosphere. I also do see some Canadians, some Romanians here, which I love. I appreciate all the support. I really love the courts as well. It suits my game style. I know I say that a lot, but I like it.”

Andreescu enters the third round in Rome
