Tony Ferguson was on the receiving end of a brutal knockout at UFC 274. He fought Michael Chandler and ended up on the canvas with a highlight reel-worthy front kick to the chin. While Chandler celebrated his win with back-to-back flips in the Octagon, Ferguson laid there as doctors came up to check him.
Authorities took ‘El Cucuy’ to the hospital after the initial worry of serious damage from the devastating kick. In a recent interview, he opened up on the knockout and made shocking revelations about the aftermath.
Ferguson gave an interview with famous MMA journalist Mike Bohn and discussed various aspects of the fight business. However, he also revealed how he felt after getting knocked out in that fashion.
He told Mike Bohn, “I pray to God every day that I walked out of that cage. Not coherent, but I was able to wake up. I didn’t remember sitting on the stool, I didn’t remember barely the second round. I don’t remember talking to Chuck Liddell, and I don’t remember walking out and seeing the fans.”
He told what he saw after getting his consciousness back. “All I remember was looking at my coach and the lights kind of went to fade in, like a movie director. I’m walking with my coach and I look at him and I already knew it. I’m like, ‘F*ck, I lost,’” he added.
