ONLINE shopping can sometimes be a risky game with sizing all over the place as one woman discovered when her new skirt arrived.

Sharing her online shopping disaster to TikTok @sharkymarie captioned the video clip: “I HATE shopping both online and in stores. It’s always a disappointment. and I’m not even as big as others who I know struggle way more.”

Talking about her order, Sharky said: “I have been waiting for these clothes to come that I ordered for a trip I’m taking to Mexico later this year.”

Showing a white flowy skirt she says that she was particularly excited for this outfit – which she had ordered in an extra large, adding that her usual size is a 14 or 16.

Even before trying to skirt on, Sharky suspected that it wasn’t going to fit. Trying to stretch the waistband she reveals how it’s already as stretched as it can get – and is certainly not going to fit an XL.

Even someone who usually wears a size large would struggle with this skirt it seems.

HOIST HACK

I’ve got big boobs and I’ve got a special method to get dresses to fit

Attempting to try the skirt on, Sharky manages to get one thigh inside, saying: “This is just one thigh, one thigh, and this is all the room I have left,” showing a small amount of space is clearly not going to fit her other leg.

“Extra large for who?” She asks, “For ants? Is this a skirt for ants?”

While she doesn’t name the site from which she ordered this skirt, Sharky adds that she’s been unable to get her money back.

Suggesting that this was actually a size medium, she also shows the top that was purchased alongside the skirt, adding: “yeah, this was never going to cut it.”

Sharky isn’t the only person to be caught out by strange online shopping sizes. Plus size influencer Allison Kimmey purchased a number of bikinis from Fashion Nova and discovered that many of them did not fit.

One woman experienced a different type of shopping disaster – after leaving the house in her new bodysuit she quickly discovered the bottom was actually transparent and she was showing off far more than intended.
