I’m a fashion expert and brides make the same mistakes with their wedding dresses – strapless ones are tacky for a startLeanne HallFashion – The Sun
THE biggest day of your life shouldn’t mean the biggest fashion fail of your life too – and picking a wedding dress is no easy task.
There’s a lot of choice, but you can make it easier for yourself by knowing what aspects you should avoid to guarantee you don’t look tacky and you don’t regret your choice in years to come.

Here, The Sun’s fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend lists the bridal sins you should never commit.
SHEER
While sheer is great for wearing on a night out to feel sexy – when it comes to your big day remember to keep it classy.
Too much sheer and exposed skin looks really trashy and will age terribly.
You don’t want to stand at the altar with your partner’s grandma not knowing where to look.
Nor do you want to scare off your grandkids when they look through the wedding album.

STRAPLESS
You should be your most comfortable and graceful on your wedding day, not constantly hitching up your wedding dress.
Think strapless bras are tricky?
Strapless wedding dresses have more weight and are more likely to fall down and be uncomfortable.
Or you can go the other way and it be too tight, which means boobs pushed up to your chin which is always unflattering and naff.

FISHTAILS
Extreme fishtail wedding dresses are a huge no-no for many reasons.
Firstly, when they’re too tight around the knee you can’t walk.
It’s obvious, dangerous and looks stupid – you won’t be able to bust some moves with your bridesmaids or make it to your first dance, let alone walk down the aisle.
Secondly, they’re hugely unflattering, whatever your body shape or size.
They hug and show off the biggest parts of your body and cut your legs off to make you look shorter.
They are a massive no for me.

PINK
If you’re trying to do the honest thing by not wearing virginal white, don’t.
We don’t live in the past anymore and you’re not fooling anyone, but you sure do look tacky.
Puffy pink frocks are not stylish or elegant, which is how you should look and feel on your big day.
They’re dated and tacky, plus in some lights it just looks like your dress is old and light-stained.

TOO MUCH TULLE
You may aim to look like a celeb on the red carpet but unless you have a designer frock and a stylist – you might end up looking like a loo roll lady.
Tulle has become one of the biggest, pardon the pun, fashion trends in recent years but the key is to not get too much of it.

Its thick and stiff texture doesn’t allow for give and doesn’t drop over time – so if you have too much your skirt will look like a giant bell.
Plus there’s no way your groom will be able to fight through to seal the deal with a kiss.
