Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori is in his rehab period after undergoing hip surgery in January 2022. Kei last played in 2021 and has since been away from the court. The 32-year-old has 12 ATP titles to his name and is one of the best players to represent Japan in tennis. Kei used to consistently perform well at slams but numerous injuries have broken his momentum.
The Japanese star registered victories against some of the greatest tennis players in the world. He has won against the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. Also, he won the Bronze medal for his country in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Kei is extremely popular in Japan and enjoys an enormous fan base. He is currently the brand ambassador of the Japanese apparel brand Uniqlo and is frequently seen promoting the brand. In a recent video posted on the Twitter handle of Uniqlo Ambassadors, we can see him playing golf.

Nishikori’s Return to Tennis
Kei Nishikori has been away from tennis since August last year. While going for the surgery, he had announced a six-month break. However, the former world number 4 has not returned to the tour yet.

Kei revealed that he is planning to return to tennis with the Rakuten Japan Open in October if the tournament gets scheduled this year. He is also hopeful to be fully fit for participating in this year’s US Open. Nishikori accepted that there’s not much time left in his career and he wants to live every playing day to the fullest.

Nishikori has not been lucky regarding the injuries. But, he has always fought back to recover and give his best at the top stage of world tennis and his fans will be hopeful of a similar return later this year.
