Kim Kardashian had the same reaction as the rest of the Bridgerton fandom following the devastating news that Regé-Jean Page won’t be appearing in season 2.

Yep, the Duke of Hastings will not be making an appearance again on the hit Netflix series and the news broke many hearts across the world.

As some of you might know, Kim finally binged the Regency drama over the past week – just in time to feel the pain of Regé’s exit.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s star couldn’t hide her shock over the news as she commented on the official announcement post: ‘Wait!!! WHAT????’

Her pal – and fellow bingeing buddy – Steph Shep added: ‘NOOOOOOOOO NOOOOO NO NO NO WHY.

‘You guys know he is the reason why we watch right? [heartbroken emoji].’

Regé won millions of fans for his role as Simon Basset in season one, alongside Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne Bridgerton, with the actress still set to appear in season two.

Netflix announced the news of his exit with a message from the elusive character Lady Whistledown, which read: ‘Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings.

‘We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.

‘Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.’

Regé also shared a sweet message, writing: ‘Pleasure and a privilege! An honour to be a member of the family – on and off screen, cast, crew and incredible fans – the love is real and will just keep growing.’

While hearts are definitely breaking at the thought of Rege-Jean’s departure, season two is still shaping up to be incredible.

The new season is due to begin production soon, with the Duke and Daphne taking a back seat in the latest festivities as her oldest brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) takes center stage.

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix.
