Utopia nightclub shooting in Ohio leaves ‘one dead and at least two others injured’ as gunfire erupts

A MAN has been killed in a shooting and at least two others were injured at a South Side nightclub after a blaze of gunfire.

Shots continued to be fired as police made their way inside the building after they were called to the Utopia club at around 1:30 am today, according to WBKN.

One man is dead and at least two others are injured after the shooting at 1:30 am this morning

Between 300 and 500 people were reportedly waiting outside the club when law enforcement arrived.

Chief of Detectives Captain Rod Foley confirmed that no cops were fired upon and no officers fired their weapons.

He explained that alongside the man who was killed, a man and a woman were also both wounded in the unexplained shooting.

The pair were taken to the St. Elizabeth Health Center but it is not yet clear how serious their conditions are.

At least six ambulances responded to the scene in the 800 block of East Midlothian Boulevard, but it is not yet clear how many people were injured during the commotion, Foley continued.

All of the gunfire took place inside the bar, but an evidence marker was seen by witnesses at the front door of the club, marking a spot of blood.

Police were inside the popular club for several hours watching surveillance camera footage and gathering evidence.

Captain Foley refused to confirm whether a weapon was recovered from the scene, but did add that the crime scene is “very large”.

“There’s a lot to process,” Foley said.
