Johnny Depp is likely to make an appearance at Jeff Beck’s show in Gateshead on Thursday, as well as for the rest of his gigs in the UK.

This comes as a jury in Virginia continue their deliberations during his and ex-wife Amber Heard’s defamation trial.

The Hollywood star stunned fans when he joined rock guitarist Beck on stage in Sheffield on Sunday to play together, just days after the trial’s closing arguments.

Since then, he has made cameos at both Royal Albert Hall gigs of rock guitarist Beck’s in London, where he received a standing ovation from some fans.

The pair have performed their 2020 song Isolation together, a remake of John Lennon’s hit released in 1970, as well as covers including Marvin Gay’s What’s Going On and Jimi Hendrix’s Little Wing.

Beck is set to play Gateshead, in North East England’s Tyne and Wear, on Thursday, and then head to Glasgow on June 3, Manchester on June 4, and Birmingham on June 6.

He will finish his UK dates in York on June 7, before taking a short break and heading to Helsinki for June 19 as he continues the tour in Europe.

Depp – who is also part of the band Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry – is expected to join Beck at the rest of his UK gigs, according to The Telegraph.

The pair have been friends for years, with Beck telling the Royal Albert Hall audience that Depp had ‘come knocking on my dressing room door about five years ago and we haven’t stopped laughing since’.

Sharon Osbourne was seen enjoying their performance in London, while Depp was supported by former flame Kate Moss, who reportedly headed backstage afterwards to party with the band ad her ex-partner.

Moss had testified just days earlier at The Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s trial where Depp, 58, is suing ex-wife Heard, 36, for $50million over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, discussing her experience with domestic abuse.

He is suing the Aquaman actress for damages to his livelihood and mental health, and he denies allegations of abuse.

Although she didn’t name her former spouse in the piece, Heard is countersuing Depp for $100m (£78m) after he labelled her a liar.

The jury emerged on Tuesday to ask the judge a question as deliberations continued, seeking clarification from Judge Penney Azcarate on whether they should consider the entire article or just the headline.

Judge Azcarate said she would tell the jury that the headline was the statement they should consider to reach their verdict.
