He’s definitely earned the title.

Martin Lewis has expressed his confusion over being included on the line-up for Sunday’s Jubilee Pageant as he prepared to board one of the ‘national treasure’ buses.

Martin aka the Money Saving Expert has previously been voted as the most trustworthy man in Britain, having handed out financial advice for years.

He’s a regular on This Morning, and has also been seen presenting on Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid earlier this year.

But the latest event he’s been asked to take part him has left him slightly baffled, sharing his thoughts with followers on social media.

He wrote on Twitter: ‘It’s Jubilee day. Ridiculously I’ve been asked to go on a ‘National Treasure’ bus. So we’re on our way, union flags in the bag ready to wave.

‘I’ve been placed on the 2000s bus. No idea why but Mrs MSE and I planning to suck in every moment.’

He accompanied the message with a picture alongside his wife Lara Lewington and showed off his very appropriate Union Jack socks.

The spectacle will take over the capital later today, for the final day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with many famous faces included in the event.

However, it seems no surprise that Martin has been invited onto the party bus, after having his efforts recognised by the Queen over the years.

He was awarded an OBE in the 2014 Birthday Honours for services to consumer rights and to charitable services through the MSE Charity Fund.

Martin was recently appointed a CBE in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to broadcasting and consumer rights.

The pageant will last for more than two hours, travelling through Central London and coming to an end at 5pm today.

According to the official website: ‘The Pageant will start on Whitehall, turn under Admiralty Arch and then process up The Mall before finishing outside Buckingham Palace around Queen Victoria Memorial.’

Elsewhere, the event will finish with Ed Sheeran giving a no-doubt special performance of his song Perfect.
