Prince Charles and Camilla are actually planning to host Strictly Come Dancing for a live episode reportedly taking place inside the walls of Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall has shared how big of a fan of the show she is, and it was previously revealed that it has been a ‘dream’ of hers to appear on the series, but ‘protocol probably wouldn’t allow it’.

However, dreams may be one step closer to coming true, as the royals have reportedly been making secret plans with the BBC.

A source said: ‘Charles and Camilla are very much driving this and the BBC couldn’t quite believe what was being offered.

‘Strictly at Buckingham Palace is just TV dreamland. It should be a wonderful spectacle,’ the insider added to The Sun.

It is thought the historic episode will be hosted from the Palace ballroom later this year, for the quarter or semi-finals of the upcoming series.

Another insider admitted to The Sun that the Queen is just as big of a Strictly fan as Charles and Camilla, ‘so there is a real desire and energy to make this happen.’

The source added that it would be a ‘wonderful treat’ continuing the celebrations of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year.

During the pandemic, Camilla made a surprise appearance on a Strictly montage, where she thanked the show’s cast and crew for lifting sprits.

As the final of the wildly popular dance show aired, the BBC shared a montage of fans expressing what it meant to them that Strictly returned to screens.

Among them was Camilla, who shared a sweet message to everyone involved in making the show this year.

‘I’m very excited, I don’t know who I’ll be voting for!’ she began.

‘I’d like, on behalf of everyone who watches Strictly to say an enormous thank you to everybody, everybody who’s been involved in this production in a particularly difficult year.

‘You have given everybody so much pleasure and you’ve uplifted the nation.’

The BBC declined to comment.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
