FASHION trends come and go – but there are some pieces that can last you a lifetime.

And a fashion guru has revealed what pieces you should go for if you want them to last in your wardrobe.

According to the TikTok account @anaskid – a Canadian fashion blogger called Anastacia – there are plenty of items that look similar to the naked eye.

But at closer inspection, you can tell whether they are trend pieces, outdated or timeless.

First up is leather trousers, she says leather leggings are outdated, and ones with cut-outs are trend pieces that won’t last well in your wardrobe.

The best type to go for is leather look pants in a slim fit.

Next up are black Chelsea boots, ones with intricate detailing around the leather are outdated, and those with chunky platforms will only last a season or two.

But a classic, matte leather Chelsea boot will never go out of style.

While blazers may look all the same at a first glance, the smaller details can reveal if they’ll stand the test of time.

Ones with a single button in the front are outdated, and ones that cinch in the waist creating a peplum fit are in style now.

But if you want a blazer that will last Anastacia recommends going for a longer fit with a slightly boxy style.

Styles that have a platform and belts around the calf are out of style, and ones that have a baggy fit and stiletto heel will soon be too.

If you want a pair to keep in your collection forever, try a leather boot with a thicker heel that will go with many outfits.

If you’re looking for a little red dress to pull out of your wardrobe for last-minute events then steer clear of ones with lace sleeves or shoulder pads explains Anastacia.

Instead, opt for a figure-hugging red dress in a classic round neckline.
