Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have a pre-nuptial agreement in place to protect the money she earned before their marriage.

According to reports, Britney has an ‘iron-clad’ legal agreement in place to ensure Sam has no claim to any of the fortune she made up to their marriage.

Sources close to the couple told TMZ that lawyers were appointed shortly after Sam proposed to Britney in September 2021 to ‘start figuring things out’ to protect the singer in the event of a future divorce.

Britney’s fortune to date is reported to be around $60million (£49million) and the pre-nup will protect her if her marriage doesn’t work out down the line.

Sam had previously addressed the agreement, joking that he was the one that called for it to be drawn up to protect his car and shoe collection.

He wrote on his Instagram story after popping the question: ‘Thank you for your concern about the prenup!

‘Of course we’re getting iron clad prenup to protect my Jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.’

It’s not the first time Britney has had a pre-nup in place, as she also had one for her marriage to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

She and Sam net in 2016 and tied the knot last Thursday at her home in Los Angeles in front of a small party of guests including Madonna, Selena Gomez and Paris Hilton.

Britney’s first ex-husband, Jason Alexander, who she had been married to for 55 hours after a ceremony in Las Vegas in 2004, had attempted to crash the day by visiting her home.

He was arrested after entering her home hours before the wedding was due to take place while livestreaming to his followers.

After he pleaded not guilty to felony stalking, as well as trespassing, battery and vandalism, his bail was set at $100,000 (£82,000) and was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Britney for three years with a restraining order.

The incident didn’t do anything to dampen Britney’s perfect day as she told her followers: ‘Wow!!! Holy holy crap!!! WE DID IT!!! WE GOT MARRIED!!!
