The soothing tones of Tom Hiddleston’s voice are about to be put to excellent use as he narrates Winnie the Pooh on the Calm app.

Listeners will be able to unwind for the night as the Loki actor recites the latest sleep story on the popular app, , Winnie The Pooh: Tales of Friendship Treasury. 

The wholesome tale is about the adventures of the honey-loving bear and his companions as they discover the true meaning of friendship. 

Hiddleston admitted that he was thrilled to read the beloved childhood tale for the popular sleeping aid for all the ‘wisdom’ the book shares.

The actor, 41, said: ‘I loved Winnie the Pooh growing up and I’m so grateful to be able to revisit happy childhood memories through this Calm Sleep Story.

‘There’s a lot of wisdom and calming reassurance in the stories of Winnie the Pooh, which we can all learn from.

‘What better way to listen and reflect on the warm-hearted nature of Pooh’s character and stories than as we settle in for a good night’s sleep.’

The Marvel star is the latest celebrity to join the roster of readers of the platform, alongside Harry StylesDavid Walliams and Matthew McConaughey. 

To celebrate the launch, Disney has released a sweet cartoon of the actor seated opposite the iconic bear as Pooh listens (and seemingly nods off) to his dreamy voice.

A.A. Milne’s Winnie-The-Pooh adventures are filled with words of wisdom for children about mental health, friendship and life such as ‘What’s wrong with knowing what you know now and not knowing what you don’t know now, until later’.

Disney’s vice president of marketing and communications, Sarah Fox said: ‘Winnie the Pooh has been comforting adults and children for over 95 years. There is no other bear who holds the same place in our hearts…

‘We’re excited to see Pooh’s wise words of care and friendship come to life with the help of Tom Hiddleston’s soothing tones.’

As part of Disney’s collaboration with Calm, 1,000 families at Make-A-Wish UK will be also gifted a free subscription for three years to enjoy the new Winnie the Pooh sleep story.

Alongside this audible project, Hiddleston has just started filming the second season of his Disney+ show, Loki. While, his latest series for Apple TV, The Essex Serpent beguiled and compelled audiences and earnt rave reviews. 

Disney’s Winnie The Pooh: Tales Of Friendship Treasury Sleep Story is now available on the Calm app.
