It’s a strange offer but it could’ve been even stranger (pic: Twitter)

A fan of Pokimane used her Twitch stream to find her during her holiday in South Korea, thinking she needed someone to carry her stuff.

We’ve seen numerous times how the life of a successful Twitch streamer isn’t always the most glamorous or ideal. Aside from having to deal with online harassment, the likes of Amouranth has also had to contend with real life stalkers.

Recently, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys encountered a rather brazen fan during a trip to South Korea, while she was live streaming on Twitch.

The fan appeared to use the stream to track her down, in order to offer to carry her luggage for her; a job he claims she was looking to hire someone for.

She turned him down, explaining that she was just planning to get a bigger suitcase to carry all her stuff in.

While dejected, he didn’t leave empty handed as Pokimane took a photo with him and told him that she’d gladly hire him in general if she lived in the area.

She and her co-streamer, JakenBake, seemed to take the whole situation in their stride, with the latter playfully joking that Pokimane’s fan needed a car to get the job.

While some would argue that it’s a bit creepy for someone to track down Pokimane on her holiday through her Twitch stream, at least the situation never escalated, and the fan didn’t appear to have any disturbing intentions.

It does demonstrate why anyone famous probably shouldn’t livestream their holiday though. Although considering how calmly she handled things, and given nothing untoward happened, Pokimane may not be put off from doing something similar in the future.

The clip was shared by a third party on YouTube, but you can check out Pokimane’s vlogs of her trip to South Korea on her own channel.

Being tracked down by fans and/or haters is unfortunately a very real problem that the most popular streamers have to prepare for. In worst case scenarios, streamers have had their personal information doxed.

This has led to swatting incidents (where police are sent to their home address under false pretences) and even breaking and entering, as happened with JustaMinx and CodeMiko.
