Alec Baldwin will sit down for an interview with Woody Allen this week but has stated he is not bothered about any backlash.

In his latest Instagram post, the Beetlejuice actor announces that he will sit down for a chat with the filmmaker on Tuesday morning.

However, he anticipated criticism in light of the ongoing controversy surrounding Allen, who has been accused of sexually abusing his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, when she was a child. The director has previously denied the allegations but the scandal continues to plague 86-year-old Allen.

Baldwin, 64, shared a video announcement, in which he holds up Allen’s memoir to reveal his upcoming Instagram live guest while laughing at points.

He wrote in his Instagram caption: ‘Let me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyone’s judgments and sanctimonious posts here.

‘I am OBVIOUSLY someone who has my own set of beliefs and COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone else’s speculation. If you believe that a trial should be conducted by way of an HBO documentary, that’s your issue.’

The actor was referring to HBO’s critically acclaimed documentary, Allen v Farrow, which explored the ongoing allegations that Allen sexually abused Dylan starting from when she was aged seven.

Dylan, 36, appears in the documentary alongside her brother Ronan Farrow and their mother Mia Farrow, who was married to Allen between 1980 and 1992.

In response to the serious claims made in the first episode of the four-part series, Allen released a joint statement with his wife Soon-Yi Previn condemning the documentary in February 2021.

‘These documentarians had no interest in the truth,’ they said in the statement released to The Hollywood Reporter

It continued: ‘Instead, they spent years surreptitiously collaborating with the Farrows and their enablers to put together a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods.

‘As has been known for decades, these allegations are categorically false. Multiple agencies investigated them at the time and found that, whatever Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe, absolutely no abuse had ever taken place.

‘It is sadly unsurprising that the network to air this is HBO – which has a standing production deal and business relationship with Ronan Farrow. While this shoddy hit piece may gain attention, it does not change the facts.’

Baldwin is currently facing various lawsuits about the fatal shooting on the set of his film Rust in October 2021, which saw him accidentally discharge a gun resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The actor denies pulling the trigger and has stated he didn’t know the gun had a live round in it.
