Jameela Jamil urges Khloe Kardashian to ‘stop being part of the culture that makes girls like her hate herself’
Jameela Jamil has had her say on Khloe Kardashian’s response to her unedited bikini pictured being shared on the internet, urging her to admit to ‘surgeries’ and editing her photographs.
The Good Place actress, 35, took to Twitter after Khloe, 36, released a statement explaining why she wanted the photo removed from the internet, telling her: ‘I’m extremely sorry for what we all watched happen to you over the past decade.
‘It’s so unacceptable. Now would be a great time to throw diet culture in the f**k it bucket, stop editing photos, admit to the help you get to look how you do, and be transparent with your fans.’
She added: ‘This is what I was saying. She was bullied into this mind state. But now is also a really good time to admit to surgeries, thinning photographs and videos, and to stop being part of the culture that makes girls like her hate herself. No more diet products. No more “revenge body.”’
When one fan claimed Jameela had ‘contradicted’ her apology by accusing Khloe of having surgery, she responded: ‘No. I am sorry for how she’s been shamed about her natural looks.
‘I am now calling for her response to be to embrace them rather than change them and lie about it, harming millions of women in the process. They are two different GRIM issues that feed each other.’
Khloe had spoken out after the frenzy around her team trying to get the unedited bikini photo of her removed from the internet.
She told her followers that ‘the pressure, constant ridicule and judgment my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear.’
Khloe added that she often gets accused of having surgery to lose weight and has had ‘every single flaw and imperfection micro-analysed and made fun of’ since finding fame, adding: ‘It’s almost unbearable trying to live up to the impossible standards that the public have all set for me.’
She continued: ‘You never quite get used to being judged and pulled apart and told how unattractive one is, but I will say, if you hear anything enough then you start believe it.
‘This is an example of how I have been conditioned to feel, that I am not beautiful enough just being me.
‘I love a good filter, good lighting and an edit here and there. The same way I throw on some make-up, get my nails done, or wear a pair of heels to present myself to the world the way I want to be seen and it’s exactly what I will continue to do unapologetically.
‘My body, my image and how I choose to look and what I want to share is my choice. It’s not for anyone to decide or judge what is acceptable or not anymore.’
