Travis Scott’s first festival appearance as a headliner since last November’s Astroworld tragedy is off the cards after the event was cancelled.

The Day N Vegas festival was set to welcome Scott alongside fellow headliners SZA and rapper J Cole, with support acts Pusha T, Summer Walker and 21 Savage.

However, the Nevada-based festival, which was set to take place over the Labor Day weekend of September 2-4, has now been abandoned due to  ‘a combination of logistics, timing and production issues’, according to its organisers.

Promoters Goldenvoice took to the Day N Vegas festival’s official website and social media channels on Friday to make the announcement, writing: ‘We’re sorry to announce that a combination of logistics, timing and production issues have forced us to cancel Day N Vegas for 2022.

‘The refund process will begin immediately, and funds will appear back to your account within the next 2-4 weeks.’

The statement continued: ‘All orders will be refunded to the credit card used to complete purchase. If you purchased a festival pass(es) via AXS and have questions about the refund process, please contact AXS via support.axs.com. For Fuse Hotel Package support, please visit daynvegas2022.com for more info.’

Scott’s performance at Day N Vegas would have been his first festival appearance since his Huston Astroworld festival last year, which saw 10 people killed and many more harmed after a deadly crowd surge during Scott’s set.

A class action court filing from May claims more than 4,900 people were injured at Astroworld, 732 of which were ‘severely’ injured and required extensive medical treatment.

After the incident, Scott shared a statement in which he expressed his ‘devastation’ over the turn of events.

The Highest in the Room rapper had been keeping a low profile in the intervening months, performing at a handful of private events, including a short guest appearance at a Coachella afterparty on April 17, and a private pre-Oscars party in Bel-Air on March 26.

He then made his first TV appearance since when he performed at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards in May, which divided fans.

He has since confirmed his first concert in the UK post-Astroworld with a headlining performance at London’s O2 Arena on August 6.

He’s also set to take on the Primavera Festival in South America, which will see him visit countries including Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
