Ben Shephard jokingly compares Susanna Reid to Love Island’s Jacques O’Neill after Casa Amor drama: ‘You’ve been trying out different men for months’-Sabrina Barr-Entertainment – Metro

Ben Shephard has drawn parallels between Susanna Reid and Love Island’s Jacques O’Neill – and his Good Morning Britain co-host admitted that he might have a point.

This week, Jacques left Love Island fans with their jaws on the floor after flirting up a storm in the main villa in the absence of his original partner Paige Thorne, who’s currently in Casa Amor.

Justifying his actions by saying that he needs to get to know other girls before knowing how strongly he feels about Paige, sparks flew between Jacques and Mollie Salmon (despite claiming later he wasn’t interested in her), while he’s also cracked on with Cheyanne Kerr, kissing her on the terrace.

Meanwhile, in Casa Amor, Paige was reduced to tears when she questioned her compatibility with Jacques, as well as jumping with excitement in the dressing room over the prospect of returning to Jacques during the recoupling ceremony.

On Thursday’s GMB, the panel discussed Jacques’ latest antics, sharing their shock over his actions.

However, Ben made a valid point when Susanna expressed her disgust, that she’s had a similar situation herself (to a degree) on the ITV programme when rotating her male co-hosts following Piers Morgan’s exit.

Since Piers’ departure from the programme in March 2021, Susanna has been joined in the studio by temporary co-hosts including Richard Madeley, Adil Ray and Alastair Campbell.

After watching clips of the latest goings-on of Love Island, Susanna looked simply appalled, while Ben quipped: ‘Well it’s important, you gather all the information you possibly can to make a decision. You can’t rush these things Susanna.’

Questioning Jacques’ thought process, Susanna said incredulously: ‘How do I know if you’re the right person for me if I haven’t tried out all the other people?!’

Ben then cleverly retorted: ‘Well you’ve been trying out different men week in week out for months now on this show. Don’t pretend you’re no different to Jacques!’

Susanna acknowledged that her colleague had a fair point, responding: ‘You know what, that’s right, sorry!’

Love Island fans are anticipating an explosion of drama when the results of the recoupling ceremony are revealed.
