Ed Gamble was forced to present his Radio X show in hiding on Sunday while on the run for Celebrity Hunted.

The comedian, who hosts Sunday mornings on Radio X with Matthew Crosby, had to carry out his programme from an undisclosed location to evade capture by a team of Hunters, leading to a live showdown on-air as Chief Hunter Lisa Theaker called in to confront him.

During his show, Ed publicly taunted the team of Hunters, who he knew would be listening in the hope that he’d accidentally slip up and reveal his whereabouts.

While chatting to his co-host Matthew, Ed repeatedly called the Hunters ‘thick’, prompting Chief Hunter Lisa to phone in to tell him that he is the ‘worst fugitive we have ever, ever had in the history of Hunted’ and that he is holding his fugitive partner in crime James Acaster back.

Revealing Ed’s flaws, Lisa said: ‘So we’ve been playing with him a little bit.

‘We’ve tracked his movements, so we know where both him and James [Acaster] have been. But Ed’s holding James back a little bit.

‘I mean, he’s coughed on air already, he’s struggling in his mind, isn’t he? He’s a little bit vulnerable isn’t he, because he says that people don’t know who he is. I mean, Matthew, if you’d have gone on the run, at least I’d have known who you were.’

Responding to Lisa’s comments, Ed fought back: ‘I think it’s interesting that the Chief there seems to think she’s getting in my head by saying that, but guess what? I know.

‘We’re absolutely terrible, and they’ve still not caught us. So what does that say about the Hunters? They’ve not been playing with us, they would have got us day one if they knew where we were. We are dreadful…’

He continued: ‘It is levels. So yeah, I think the Chief thinks that that’s gonna get in my head, but I’m well aware we’re terrible fugitives. We’re having an absolute laugh at their expense.’

Lisa insisted that she and the team of Hunters were ready to pounce immediately after Ed finished his show.

‘It’s about time we took Ed home now,’ she remarked.
