Brandon Perea has emerged as a fan-favourite from Jordan Peele’s Nope – and he’s more than willing to come back for more.

The 27-year-old stars alongside Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer in the sci-fi horror, which follows two siblings who own a horse ranch and discover something mysterious unfolding in the skies.

Despite being a relative newbie to the acting world, Brandon has earned praise in his own right for his warm performance as Angel, the tech shop guy who embarks on the weird and wonderful journey with siblings OJ (Kaluuya) and Emerald (Palmer).

Basically, to sum up the general reaction to his screen time, one viewer tweeted: ‘Give me another movie with Angel it doesn’t have to be a Nope sequel I just want more Angel…’

Well they may just get what they want as Brandon told Metro.co.uk at the London premiere of Nope on Thursday: ‘In my opinion, it’s not over, there’s so much more to explore in this, we need to again.

‘There’s no studio telling me we’re going again, I have no clue but as a fan I’m like, we should go again and selfishly, I love working with all these people.’

Some may recognise Brandon from his previous role in Netflix series The OA, which he revealed somewhat helped get into the sci-fi mystery vibe of Nope.

‘The roles are definitely different but that experience I got filming two seasons of a TV show on Netflix, that helped. I would never have been able to perform the way I did in this film without that experience, 100% so that definitely helped,’ he said.

Brandon had nothing but praise for his co-stars, including Daniel and director Jordan, for taking him under their wing.

He recalled: ‘I was just learning everyday, I’d go there on my days off just to learn some more. But to see their dynamic, it’s different than Jordan and I’s because we’re all different performers but Jordan finds what works for you and then really caters to that.

‘Just seeing him and Daniel work – me and Jordan will talk, him and Daniel don’t need to talk it’s this weird thing. They don’t need words. Jordan will go up to him and then Daniel [will just silently nod] and then go. They just have that flow where they know each other so well.’

Nope hits UK cinemas on August 12.
