Community fans edge closer to six seasons and a movie as Alison Brie teases film: ‘Wheels are turning’-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Community fans, the time we’ve all been waiting for is nearly upon us as Alison Brie has spilled on a possible film.

The series first out our screens in 2009, following the antics of a study group at a community college – with Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Chevy Chase, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong also in the cast.

The term ‘six seasons and a movie’ has been a running joke in the beloved sitcom, and viewers kept their fingers crossed for a big screen adventure ever since the doors to Greendale Community College officially closed in 2015.

Seven years after the finale, Alison – who played Annie Edison – revealed that the ‘wheels are turning’ on a film.

‘You know what, I’ll say it. There’s been movement,’ she said during an episode of the UnWrapped podcast.

‘There’s been some talks. People are talking and certain things – wheels are turning. I said it!

‘I’m saying there are legitimate conversations that are happening. Whether or not they will ever turn into an actual movie – I would love it if they did, and I hope that they do.

‘But the fact alone that actual real conversations are happening is I think the most progress we’ve ever made on that front.’

We need to make this happen immediately.

Alison isn’t the only Greendale alum who has suggested that plans for a movie could finally come to fruition.

Joel, who starred as lawyer Jeff Winger, told ComicBook earlier this year: ‘I’m setting aside all the money to make [the movie] happen.

‘Before, when I’d answer the question [of if a Community movie is possible], I’d be like, “Maybe, I have no idea.” But now, with its success on the streamers during the pandemic, the interest has returned. I would say it’s more likely than it was before, definitely, but it’s like building an aircraft carrier.

‘You go, “We’re gonna do this, right? Yeah, okay, everybody’s here, we got the money.” Now, this thing has to actually get built.

‘There’s a lot more than just, “Hey, let’s make a movie now, great.” It’s a lot of moving parts. So I’m more positive than I was, definitely, but we’ll see. That’s a terrible answer, but definitely better than my answer two years ago.’

Bring it on.

Community is available to stream on Netflix now.
