Gail Porter has revealed she was ‘sucker punched’ while attempting to break up two women fighting outside her London home.
While she insisted she is now ok and walked away with nothing more than a ‘sore jaw’, the presenter implored for people to remind her never to attempt to do such a thing again.
Sharing the incident on her social media on Saturday, the former Top Of The Pops star told followers she was ‘bit shaken but all good’ as she recounted the fracas.
Gail wrote: ‘Please remind me… when 2 women are fighting outside my home… don’t go out and try and make peace. At home now with a punch to the jaw. Got to love London.’
She added: ‘And.. I was always taught, as being trained in martial arts. Never respond. Hold your guard and be kind.’
Responding to several people who shared their shock at her post and added their wishes for her fast recovery, Gail revealed while it was all ‘sinking in’ she ‘may stay a few days indoors’ with the ‘blinds down’.
She added to another: ‘I’m Scottish. I can get over it. But it did break my spirit,’ while claiming those involved were ‘off their heads’.
‘I just wanted to calm it down as it was upsetting the neighbours,’ the star went on. ‘You know me. Just wanted to keep the peace.’

She added today: ‘But…. Today is a beautiful day and is was a sucker punch. No harm done. I didn’t really feel it. Being Scottish and all. But have a wonderful afternoon xxx.’
Gail recently opened up to Metro newspaper about living in the capital and reflecting on whether London was home, she said: ‘I’ve lived here for years and I’ll probably always live here but I’m originally from Edinburgh, which is a fabulous city.

‘I still call that home even though I’ve been in London for so long now, but it’s so expensive I can hardly afford to go back anymore. I looked at booking an Airbnb up there last year and it’s just gone mad. It is fabulous, though.’
Her home country is never far from her heart though, with the presenter fronting series Spooked Scotland.
Speaking about the places she visited in the show, Gail explained: ‘I spent time in loads of properties across Scotland with Chris and he was, of course, really open to it all.
‘I started out a sceptic though, I tell you, there is something in those houses. You can feel it and get a sense of something.
‘A bit like when I first walked into that first home in Belsize Park and I got a sense it was the house for me, I knew walking in those places there was something, a presence or spirit.
‘The first episode shows me in Brodick Castle on the Isle of Arran. And when they told me I was staying the night there I was totally freaked out. I swear to you, I went to bed in a room with a small living room attached to it and I shut the door to that room when I went to bed. When I woke up, that same door was wide open.

‘I went out of that place screaming like a crazy, bald, wild woman. I couldn’t get checked out quick enough!
‘I feel like I’m slightly more in tune with the energy and spirits you can feel in houses now from doing that show.’
