Rapper Skepta has opened up about his health struggles and ongoing pain from stomach problems.

The musician, 39, was taken to hospital last month for a mystery illness and asked fans for their prayers after sharing a photo from his bed.

Now, the grime artist has shared what he goes through each day with his condition, telling his followers that he has suffered with IBS and stomach ulcers since his twenties.

Skepta – real name Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr. – sought advice from anyone who might be able to help him, since he endures ‘crippling waves of pain’ regularly.

‘Through song lyrics or word of mouth some of you know I have suffered from IBS/stomach ulcers/problems since my early twenties’, he began writing on Instagram.

‘Apart from me not being able to maintain a steady weight, depression, short term memory loss, it also controls my moods, which has ultimately steered my life’, he continued.

The London-born star explained how he previously had an endoscopy but ‘nothing was found’, so he thinks the ‘next thing’ to do is book in for an MRI scan.

‘If anybody has any experience or advice about this kind of thing I would love to talk still’, he penned.

Ending on an uplifting, touching note, he concluded: ‘Sending strength to anybody that has had to deal with stomach problems kmt smh the internal fights, the mood swings, losing things etc. are normal symptoms, just don’t let it ruin your life.’
