Jeremy Kyle has come under fire after calling Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon ‘that horrible woman up north’ during Uncensored.

The 57-year-old is standing in for Piers Morgan on his TalkTV show while he films in America for the summer and he certainly did not shy away from controversy on Wednesday’s episode.

Joined by political commentator Marina Purkiss and broadcaster Emma Webb, the former The Jeremy Kyle Show presenter discussed the soaring cost of living – which has reached crisis point.

It comes after a dire prediction stated the annual energy bill is likely to hit £4,266 for the average household in the UK.

However, apparently brushing aside record-breaking inflation rates, Jeremy said: ‘I think this cost of living crisis, and this taking the electorate for granted is going to cast the Tories into the wilderness for years and my theory is that horrible woman up north is going to start. What’s her name? Nicola Sturgeon, she’ll be in power in a minute. What’s gonna happen then?’

Shocked Marina, 37, challenged the broadcaster, asking him: ‘If you were a Scot, wouldn’t you want to be breaking away from this lot?’

Jeremy replied: ‘I’m quite happy if they wanna break away but don’t start me on her [Nicola Sturgeon] because she annoys me.’

He went on to say: ‘Love what Liz Truss said yesterday: “She’s of absolutely no importance or of no interest to me.” That’s pure Boris speak. Isn’t it?’

They were discussing Sturgeon after she recently announced she would like another Scottish independence referendum to take place on October 19 next year.

In 2014, the Scots voted on whether the country should seperate from the UK, with the majority (55.3%) saying no.

Naturally, fans on Twitter were outraged by Jeremy’s offensive remarks, with one writing: ‘And why was the Jeremy Kyle show taken off TV? Remind me again.’

‘Jeremy Kyle is a prime example if why Scotland should leave the UK!’ wrote another while someone else fumed: ‘There’s no way on earth we can get someone as annoying as Morgan to stand in for him whilst he’s on holiday. Jeremy Kyle – ” Hold my beer…”’

Another viewer concluded: ‘Jeremy Kyle is as obnoxious on that show as he was on the show that he used to host.’

It’s not the first time in the past week that Jeremy’s antics on Piers Morgan Uncensored have been called out.

The Berkshire-born TV personality appalled audiences when he interrupted Bill Bailey while the comedian was mid-speech speaking about his late friend Sean Lock, who died in August last year aged 58.

The 57-year-old  was still in the middle of talking about his and Lock’s ‘favourite places’ when Kyle interjected to state: ‘Now I know you’ve got upcoming shows at London’s Royal Opera House, as part of the En Route To Normal international tour.’

Oh dear.

Uncensored airs weeknight at 8pm on TalkTV.
