The release of The Flash is under even more pressure over Ezra Miller’s behavior, it has been claimed.

Last week, Warner Bros confirmed that the $200million superhero flick would still be released in cinemas next year, despite the lead star’s multiple arrests and controversies off camera.

However, after it emerged that the 29-year-old – who uses they/them pronouns – was charged with felony burglary, further questions have been raised about how the DC release can go ahead as planned.

According to reports, the studio is weighing up three options for how they can continue, with plans to shelve the release not off the table.

An insider has claimed to Hollywood Reporter that the first option would see them seek professional help and possibly give a sit-down interview, explaining their recent actions.

This would then see them take on limited press with the Flash being released in cinemas.

The publication reports that a second scenario would include the film landing in cinemas but with Miller taking a back seat with any marketing and publicity, with their role eventually recast in future films.

As a last resort, it has been claimed that the blockbuster could be scrapped altogether, which has been described as an ‘unprecedented’ move.

The Flash was first announced in 2014, with Miller cast in the role – they went on to play the role in Justice League, in 2018, and 2021’s Zack Snyder cut.

The future of the movie had initially remained unknown until last week, when Warner Bros confirmed it is still on track to be released next June, with Miller leading the cast.

Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav said at the firm’s second quarter earnings call: ‘We have seen The Flash, Black Adam and Shazam 2.

‘We are very excited about them. We’ve seen them. We think they are terrific, and we think we can make them even better.’

In the days since this announcement, Miller was charged with felony burglary over an incident that happened in May.

According to a police report, officers received a notification of a burglary complaint from a residence in Stamford, at around 6pm on May 1.

Officers reportedly found that several bottles of alcohol had been taken from the property while the owners weren’t home.

They collected statements and assessed CCTV footage, and are said to have found ‘probable cause’ to charge the Hollywood star with ‘felony burglary into an unoccupied dwelling.’

Miller was located by the police and summoned to appear in Vermont Superior Court on September 26, when they will be formally charged.
