I’m a size 6 and my mum’s a 16 – we tried on the same dresses from River Island to see if they could work for both of us

FINDING the perfect summer dress isn’t always easy.

But when this mum and daughter duo decided to try on the same frocks to see if the same styles could really work for both of them they were stunned by what they found.

Tashika Bailey, who is a size 6, and her mum Tammica, size 16, bought the dresses from River Island and had mixed feelings about the styles.

Tashika explained: “My mum actually picked these outfits, so [she] thinks these outfits are nice.”

Her mum was convinced that the dresses she picked would also work for her daughter, but Tashika wasn’t so sure.

The first dress was a winner for the duo and would be perfect for a late summer barbeque, the mum pointed out.

The knitted bodycon dress had a tie-dye print which they both loved, “It’s different, I’ve not seen anything like this,” Tashika quipped.

Her mum agreed, she said: “I love this one, I think I’ll keep it!”

They agreed the look was a ten out of ten, and since it was reduced from £50 to £20 it was a bit of a bargain as well.

Next, they tried a green floral mini dress, but Tashika immediately hated it.

“It kind of fits nice though, it fits my waist and everything, but I wont wear thing.”

Her mum on the other hand loved the floral style and couldn’t wait to wear it out and about.

Tashika still wasn’t convinced though: “It just looks weird, what grown woman is wearing this?”

Finally, the pair tried on a sleek chocolate brown bodycon dress with ruched sides.

Although Tashika wasn’t sure about the look at first it quickly grew on her after she moved the neckline down a bit.

“The off shoulder detail is different, even though it’s got the ruching and the chocolate colour I like it.”

The chic dress was only £12, which left the duo stunned since it looked so much more expensive.
