Love Island star Luca Bish has apologised to Tasha Ghouri for his repeated digs at the dancer in the villa, while also reflecting on his ‘controlling behaviour’.

The fishmonger, who found romance with Gemma Owen on the ITV2 dating show, received widespread backlash from viewers – and even Ofcom complaints – during the series after he accused Tasha of ‘playing a game’ with boyfriend Andrew Le Page, while also choosing to pie her during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge.

On one occasion, Tasha broke down in tears while struggling to understand why Luca and some of the other boys felt she wasn’t being genuine with Andrew.

Luca and Tasha’s friendship appears to have recovered since leaving the villa, with the two enjoying a double date with their respective partners Gemma and Andrew over the weekend.

During his time in the villa, Luca was also accused of being too controlling with Gemma, with the two getting into fiery arguments over his protectiveness, particularly when it came to her being friends with the male islanders.

Reflecting on his behaviour, Luca, 23, said: ‘With my controlling behaviour it took me watching it back to realise what I had done but with the Tasha situation, I realised I took it too far whilst I was still in there.’

He added to Grazia: ‘When you’ve got a girl crying, I realised I was wrong. For once in my life, I thought – you need to shut up now, your opinions aren’t needed.’

‘When my parents came into the villa and told me I was wrong in my approach – nothing’s hit home or affected me before like that.’

Referring to Tasha, he added: ‘I told her I was sorry for how I behaved… I’m glad it hasn’t affected our friendship.’

Tasha, 24, has since revealed that she and Andrew, 27, were ready to walk out of the villa over the negative comments about their relationship from Luca and Dami Hope.

‘It was a lot – I felt backed into a corner. It’s such an intense environment and hard to escape. You’re stuck in there together. I was ready to walk out,’ she told The Sun.

She continued: ‘A lot had happened in the space of three days and a lot of it was targeted at me. I was upset.

‘I did kind of walk out. I said [to the show’s producers]: “I’ve had enough” and Andrew said: “I’m gonna go with you.”’
