Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has confirmed the latest seasons were struck by a big problem – puberty.
Stranger Things launched in 2016 with many of its cast as children.
Schnapp was just 12 when the first series took over the world and is now 17 but his character Will Byers is only supposed to be 15 in season four.
Naturally, Schnapp has developed more than Will and that caused a bit of a headache for directors.
‘It was the peak time of change, and puberty and growing up and just everything was changing with all of us, and the directors were just not loving it,’ he told Flaunt Magazine.
Schnapp was even urged to try and change his voice.
‘I remember one of the producers coming up to me and telling me, “Noah, is there any way you could just speak in a higher tone and just slouch a little bit? Like, we need you to keep that season one innocence that you had.”

‘That was like, “I don’t know what to tell you. My voice is dropping. I don’t sound young anymore.”’
Schnapp’s comments come after star Millie Bobby Brown was floored when she discovered her character’s real age, despite Eleven and Mike ‘making out’ on the regs.
Millie is now 18 in real-life and she figured Eleven was around the same age.

Wrong.
After being informed by an interviewer that Eleven is just 14, she gasped: ‘I was making out with Mike at 13?’
‘Im like 16 [when she was filming]. I was thinking like maybe 16/17. That’s insane. Ok. We need definite clarification; they’re emailing right now.’
Stranger Things season 5 will be the very last with creators The Duffer Brothers recently sharing the first photo from the writer’s room to confirm work is officially underway.
Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix now.
