Kris Jenner has been through divorce twice and has shared her biggest advice for daughter Kim Kardashian amid her split from husband Kanye West

Kim, 40, filed for divorce from Kanye, 43, in February after six years of marriage and a particularly turbulent several months.

The couple share four children; North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, one, and Kim’s momager Kris says they are the most important factor in the ongoing divorce proceedings.

Speaking to WSJ, Kris said: ‘I think the most important thing I learned through my experience, both of my experiences, is that the kids come first.

‘If you keep that in the front of your mind and know that they are going to get you through, the love is going to get you through, you know, no matter how much you’re hurting.’

Kris, 65, has been through divorce twice herself; first to Kim’s father Robert Kardashian in 1991 after 13 years of marriage, and then to Caitlyn Jenner in 2015 after 24 years together.

Recalling how she coped during her first divorce from Robert, Kris revealed: ‘I used to put everybody to bed, and then I would be upset or go to my room and cry myself to sleep. But I didn’t want to have a pity party in front of the kids.’

She added that things ‘get really silly’ in divorce.

In the latest update, it’s reported that Kanye has agreed to Kim’s request for joint custody of their children and filed a response at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

The legal papers, obtained by the PA news agency, cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split but neither Kim or Kanye have listed a separation date.

Kanye has also agreed with Kim’s request for the court to terminate its ability to award spousal support, with both being reported billionaires and clearly not needing the financial support.

Their split has somewhat unfolded in the latest episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, with Kim seen having intense private phone calls last summer as Kanye embarked on his Twitter rants.

However, keen to keep their marital issues off-camera, Kim told her sisters Kourtney and Khloe in a recent episode: ‘It’s no secret that everyone sees things in the media about my life with Kanye.

‘But I’ve always been really respectful in not talking about [our] issues… I mean, you guys clearly see them on Twitter, so I’m still gonna choose to not really talk about it here.

‘I try to just support him. I don’t want to talk about it on camera. I just don’t want to talk about Kanye or anything.’
