Adam Perkins’ twin brother has urged people to stop asking how the Vine star died.

The 24-year-old, best known for the surreal 2015 Vine ‘Welcome to Chili’s’, died on April 11, with his brother Patrick, also known as Packie, confirming the news on Instagram.

He did not announce a cause of death.

Patrick, who made Vines alongside his brother, has now said that it was his intention not to reveal his twin’s cause of death.

After somebody commented on Instagram: ‘I’m so sorry, how did he die?’, Patrick replied: ‘There is intention in not releasing that information. Please respect this decision.’

He also responded to another comment, writing: ‘Not sure how it’s not obvious that I didn’t say for a reason. Everything in this is intentional. Please respect that.’

In response to a message of condolence which read: ‘Whatever happened I hope he went through no pain and suffering,’ TikTok star Patrick said: ‘While I won’t go into specifics, I can assure you that he went just about as peacefully as you can.’

Patrick announced the news of his brother’s death by writing: ‘i can’t even really put into words what this loss means for me. i’m often asked the question, “what’s it like to be a twin?” and my response is usually, “what’s it like to NOT be a twin?”

‘being a twin is a very central part of my identity. it’s all i’ve known. and i’m struggling to find the words to explain what it will be like for me to live in this world without him. my best friend.’

Perkins was probably best known for his 2015 Vine in which he walked into a bathroom in his boxers saying ‘Hi, welcome to Chili’s’ – mocking the tagline for a series of ads for the American restaurant chain Chili’s.

The Vine gained over 20 million loops in a year and inspired a series of parodies and remixes, including one where Perkins was superimposed over the entrance of a Chili’s restaurant.

He and his twin brother often made Vines together, with Patrick being the twin featured in the Vine in which he vapes a cloud of smoke which is blown away, before turning to the camera and saying: ‘Adam!’

Perkins graduated from a music composition degree from NYU in 2019, and in his final Instagram post, shared on March 21, he wrote: ‘remember adam from vine? he’s 24 now and a business analyst working in data. feel old yet? copying packie because we’re twins and supposed to do that.’

Following the shutdown of Vine in 2016, Perkins continued to share videos on TikTok, where he had over 19,000 followers.

He released his first album Latch Relay in 2018 under the name Plas Teg.
