Charlotte Dawson has been hospitalised after a scooter accident while on holiday.

The Celebs Go Dating star, 29, suffered painful facial injuries as she was involved in a collision while sight-seeing in Rome and admits she is ‘very lucky’ she wasn’t badly injured.

Rough and Ready actress Charlotte, who is engaged to partner Matt Sarsfield, concerned fans on Wednesday when she shared photos of herself in the back of an ambulance and in hospital.

The mum-of-one, who welcomed baby Noah in January 2021, said all she wanted was to go home to her son after the ‘scary, horrible experience.’

Taking to Instagram, the reality star began by joking: ‘When in Rome…’

She explained: ‘I fell off a scooter today travelling around.. I lost control of it, got scared went into the curb & fell over the handle bars.’

Assuring fans and friend she was ‘OK,’ she added: ‘I’ve been very lucky and can thankfully go home to my boy.’

She wasn’t without injury however, as she said she was covered in bruises, had ‘lots of stitches’ and ‘a leg I can’t walk on properly.’

Keeping positive, Charlotte acknowledged ‘it could [have] been a lot different.’

‘She said it was a ‘scary,horrible day’ for her, Matthew and their friends who witnessed the accident but believes ‘someone was looking down on me.’

The former ‘Ex on the Beach’ star, who is the daughter of the late comedian Les Dawson, was flooded with messages of support and shock from her celebrity friends

Bianca Gascoigne commented: ‘Oh no you poor sausage sending healing love bub,’ while Coronation Street star Victoria Ekanoye wrote: ‘Oh gosh, these things feel even scarier when you have a little one depending on you.’

She added: ‘Glad you’re ok honey.’

Thanking friends for their concerns, Charlotte later wrote on Instagram stories that it was a ‘scary day but I’m OK thank god,’ adding: ‘I’m very lucky.’

The star then revealed she was out of hospital and heading home to baby Noah, as she shared a snap with fiance Matt, smiling despite the visible cuts on her face.

‘Finally I got out of hospital & could go home,’ she wrote, later posting another photo of her and Matt on the plane back to the UK together.

Charlotte’s own hospitalisation comes after she had to rush baby Noah to A&E after he had an accident at home.

The model, who was ‘terrified,’ revealed her son had banged his head on a table leg before being sick and passing out.

Thankfully, after she and fiance Matt took Noah to hospital, he was eventually given the all-clear by medical staff and sent home.

Charlotte and husband-to-be Matthew have been dating for six years and confirmed their engagement in September 2020 – a month after sharing the news she was expecting.
