Cobra Kai season 5 has scored a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, as critics are clearly gushing over the return of Daniel LaRusso.

The show – which is a spin-off of the Karate Kid franchise that began way back in 1984 – has been a hit among Netflix users since moving to the streaming service for its third season on January 1 2021.

The show follows the original Karate Kid – LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) – all grown up but still facing grief from his high school bully Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).

Season four saw the two enemies put their differences aside as they attempted to overthrow the corrupt Sensei Kreese (Martin Kove) who was threatening to lead a new generation of kids astray.

Now, with the launch of the newest season, fans have been thrown back into Karate Kid nostalgia and have left raving reviews.

Having launched on Netflix on Friday, September 9, audiences have rated season five 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In the new season, the futures of the rivalling dojos are up in the air as Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) works on expanding Cobra Kai and fights to prove his style of karate is the best around town.

Meanwhile, Kreese is behind bars while Lawrence has taken a step back from fighting, leaving LaRusso to depend on Chozen Toguchi (Yuki Okumoto) for some backup.

The new season is following in the footsteps of older ones, as the first won 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, while season two, three and four all gained 90% or more.
