Selma Blair delighted attendees and viewers of the Emmy Awards by making a surprise appearance to present the final award.

The Cruel Intentions star, who has been open about her battle with Multiple sclerosis for the past few years, received a standing ovation when she took to the stage.

Selma, 50, looked sensational in a black gown, as she walked across the stage with a cane.

Giggling, she said: ‘Hi! I am so, so honoured.’

As the applause continued, she went on: ‘I am honoured to be here this evening to present the final award for outstanding drama series.’

The award went to Succession, one of the big winners of the night.

Elsewhere at the awards, Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae made history by winning the lead actor in a drama series award, and becoming the first Asian actor ever to win in the category.

Also winning on the night were stars including Zendaya, Michael Keaton, and Brett Goldstein, and Lizzo got tearful as she picked up her first Emmy.

Selma has been absolutely smashing it lately, being announced as part of the line-up for the next series of Dancing With The Stars.

The actress was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2018, and has since been candid about what it’s meant for her to manage the condition while also having a career and caring for her son Arthur.

MS is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.

In October 2021, Selma shared an in-depth look at her life with MS, when she released the documentary Introducing, Selma Blair.

The film tracked her experience of undergoing life-altering stem cell treatment in order to kick-start her immune system, to the slow and painful flare-ups of the disease and invasive chemotherapy.
