I’m a fashion expert & the ‘magic triangle’ is the new trend that’ll make your figure look amazing

BARING your cleavage is no longer in vogue, while flashing some sideboob is considered to be so five years ago.

But fashion-forward stars have found a new way to add a subtle hint of sexiness to their outfits — by revealing their flesh with magic triangles.

The new trend is all the rage with models like Heidi Klum

Simply put, the new trend amounts to wearing a form-fitting dress with triangular cutouts which show off your figure.

These pyramid shapes typically sit pointing inwards towards your stomach with the smallest point of the triangle sitting in the middle of the stomach.

This creates an hourglass illusion of a small waist and fuller curves.

The likes of model Bella Hadid, actress Jodie Turner-Smith and TV presenter Amanda Holden have led the charge, while performers such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Nicole Scherzinger are also fans of the cutout look.

And it doesn’t just work on dresses.

Singer Rita Ora has shown how you can tweak the triangular look with separates when she wore a corset-style top and trousers on a visit to the Louvre in Paris in July.

And model Jourdan Dunn wore a triangle cutout T-shirt during New York Fashion Week this month.

The trend has taken the fashion world by storm, with eBay reporting a 79 per cent spike in searches for “cutout dresses”.

The style was first popularised by high-end designers such as Christopher Kane and Nensi Dojaka.

Choose how much skin you want to show

Now high street stores like H&M and Mango are creating their own versions with varying-sized cutout segments so you can choose how much skin you want to show and on which part of your body.

And that’s why so many women are drawn to the style.

I’m a size 12/14 and after seeing this trend everywhere and how flattering it looks, I knew I had to try it myself.

I now have two cutout triangle dresses, a red long-sleeve option from H&M and a floral dress from Asos, both of which I love.

Neither cost more than £30. I’ve worn each throughout the last few months and have received numerous compliments on how flattering the style is.

So it doesn’t just have to be for people with toned abs or a flat stomach.

I have neither of those and I love how it gives definition to my waist without using anything to clinch me in, like a belt.

While I was initially concerned about my waist protruding over the cutouts when I sat down, it is still a flattering look because they don’t go fully across my stomach, instead sitting on my hips.

And you haven’t even heard the best part — you can wear a bra with the majority of these looks, which was something I was initially concerned about. Hallelujah!

Just make sure you opt for an outfit where your back is not on show.If you think coming into the colder months this may be too breezy a look for you, there are plenty of options with triangles filled with sheer fabrics.
