Rihanna sent us all into a spin when she confirmed that she is headlining next year’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
After intense speculation over who the guest performer is, with Taylor Swift’s name initially in the mix, the Work singer announced that she will be hitting the stage in Glendale, Arizona.
In typical form, the 34-year-old, who recently welcomed her first child with A$AP Rocky, simply posted a photo as she held an American football on Instagram.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the news and questioned whether this means we’ll finally get our hands on some new music and the elusive R9 album.
‘I have a feeling Rihanna’s going to debut new music at the Super Bowl,’ one predicted.
‘Rihanna performing at the superbowl?? she better announce that album during the halftime show,’ a follower said.
‘@rihanna performing at the Super Bowl, means new music is coming. Phenomenal re-entry point into the music world,’ another commented.
A fan pleaded: ‘So since Rihanna doing the Super Bowl are we getting new music? The Navy is thirsty.’
However, many, many more are convinced that RiRi is trolling us all, and her Super Bowl show will just be a 15-minute tutorial for new Fenty products.
To be honest, we would also be down for this as those gloss bombs are out of this world.
Rihanna famously released her eighth album, Anti, in 2016 and has only dropped a handful of tracks since then.
Her last stage performance came at the Grammy Awards, in 2018, so this will be a huge moment for the singer-turned-beauty mogul.
The announcement comes just days after NFL confirmed that Apple Music has replaced Pepsi as their newest partner for the show, with the Super Bowl final set to take place in Glendale on February 12.

‘We are proud to welcome Apple Music to the NFL family as our new partner for the iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show,’ Nana-Yaw Asamoah, SVP of Partner Strategy for the NFL, said in a statement.
‘We couldn’t think of a more appropriate partner for the world’s most-watched musical performance than Apple Music, a service that entertains, inspires, and motivates millions of people around the world through the intersection of music and technology.’
Rihanna will be following some huge names with the Halftime slot, as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Madonna are just some of the other names who have performed in the past.
