Sarah Jessica Parker has teased John Corbett will finally be back as Aidan Shaw for season 2 of And Just Like That.

The Sex and The City prequel ended with Carrie Bradshaw spreading husband Big’s ashes in Paris, after she started to dip her toe back in the dating pool following his death.

However, fans were crushed and confused when Aidan was nowhere to be seen despite Corbett previously confirming his comeback.

Well, while fans are hesitant about the return of And Just Like That, with the threat of even more Che Diaz, Parker has given us all some hope.

Addressing speculation Aidan will be a key player of season two, Parker told Entertainment Tonight: ‘Could be, could be.’

She added: ‘Well, you know, I can’t be like, cryptic about it anymore.’

After Corbett’s absence raised concerns from fans, executive producer and writer Julie Rottenberg urged the actor to apologise for falsely raising hopes.

‘John Corbett should be writing personal apology notes. We didn’t say anything,’ Julia said.

Writer and director Michael Patrick King was asked whether he believes the former romance between Aidan and Carrie is ‘old news’, responding: ‘No, there’s nothing old news about Sarah Jessica Parker and John Corbett as actors and beings and interests.’

He added: ‘The fact of the matter is, we never said anything about Aidan, just like we never said, Steve and Carrie or getting together.’

Michael explained that the makers of the comedy-drama felt the events that occurred were ‘a lot for Carrie’, so they wanted to ensure the finale helped ‘get her through this’.

‘We wanted to get her out. [Aidan’s return] is a big storyline that everybody at home wrote that we had never intended,’ he added

And Just Like That returns to HBO Max and Sky in 2023.
