Adrien Brody has claimed he noticed Jeremy Strong ‘keeps his distance’ from Brian Cox on the set of Succession.

Succession season four is currently filming, with Cox and Strong both back in their roles as sparring father and son Logan and Kendall Roy.

Outside of filming, both actors have revealed they have very different approaches to acting.

Strong has become notorious for his method acting, which Cox has called ‘crap’.

Cox also shared his concerns about Strong, admitting: ‘I worry about what it does to him.’

Brody was asked if he was aware of the stars’ different styles of acting when filming with them both.

‘I think everyone has a responsibility to be malleable to other people’s approaches,’ he explained to Hollywood Reporter.

’That’s part of the job. It’s not an exact science.

‘I think the hard part comes when an actor disrupts the flow. That can come from many reasons: insecurity about where they’re at in that moment, whether they’re connecting or not, or from ego. Or some other thing.’

Brody joined Succession in season three as Waystar RoyCo shareholder Josh Aaronson who was first introduced to the show in an episode with Logan and Kendall reluctantly being forced together.

‘I did notice that [Jeremy] was keeping his distance from Brian on set,’ Brody continued.

‘But I just thought it was all really interesting.

‘I think Brian [couldn’t] probably care less, but it was obviously working for Jeremy. I just remember thinking, “Wow, this is so fun to step into this.”’

After Strong’s method acting was highlighted in a profile piece in The New Yorker, he dismissed suggestions from the article his co-stars were dismissive of his technique.

‘A lot of that is just things that are presented out of context or with a certain agenda,’ Strong told THR. ‘I know what everybody said, and there was an angle and a narrative that was being presented

‘Which is not to say that there was never friction between my co-stars. We’re a family in every sense of the word. But foundationally, there’s deep respect and even love.’

Succession is available to stream on NOW.
